LEGO: Everything is NOT awesome - Greenpeace Campaign

18 July 2014, 16:41 - By Viking KARWUR

As you might remember, Greanpeace has recently started a petition to raise awareness about LEGO and Shell’s partnership and to try to bring it to an end. Now, to better appeal to our emotions, the Greenpeace team has released a very cinematic yet depressing video of the LEGO Arctic being devoured by oil drilling. The film starts out very happy and uplifting with minifigs and animals having a great time and playing together, but, as the movie progresses, things start to get darker when oil begins to destroy this environment. I am not taking any sides on this issue, but I must admit that this short film is quite powerful and nicely done.

As of right now, the petition has passed the halfway mark and it only needs 240,000 more signatures. If you’d like to support the campaign then visit the Official Campaign Page and if you’d like to find out more about the issue, go ahead and read our article about it.

We love LEGO. You love LEGO. Everyone loves LEGO.

But when LEGO’s halo effect is being used to sell propaganda to children, especially by an unethical corporation who are busy destroying the natural world our children will inherit, we have to do something.
